Cincinnati scores a perfect score from HRC in LGBTQ+ equality survey
Last month the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) released its 12th edition of the Municipal Equality Index which scores cities’ policies, laws, and services concerning LGBTQ+ equality…
And Cincinnati did us proud scoring a perfect 100/100 points!
Some of the areas where Cincy shined include:
Housing and employment
Presence of a liaison/task force in Police Dep
Trans-inclusive healthcare benefits for city employees
Cincinnati was one of 8 cities in Ohio and 129 nationally, to receive perfect scores. Kelley Robinson, president of the HRC, praised the efforts of cities across the country:
"Even when anti-LGBTQ+ extremists in state capitals are working to undermine their progress, mayors and city council members keep fighting to make sure that LGBTQ+ people in their communities - especially trans people - are supported and lifted up to the fullest extent possible."

🍔 Shake Shack is coming to Cincinnati! Located in Liberty Center, this location has a drive-thru and indoor/outdoor seating. It opens this Thursday on December 7, featuring their signature burgers, shakes, and more.

💇🏼♀️ Local Cincinnati woman starts a new nonprofit, The Geriatric Hair Care Organization, for seniors who cannot afford hair care. “I get emotional responses,” Warner said. “Sometimes they will cry. If family is present, they will cry. They always say, ‘I feel like myself again.’”
💸 Ohio's minimum wage is set to increase on January 1, 2024. Non-tipped employees will see a raise from $10.10 to $10.45 per hour, while tipped workers will go from $5.05 to $5.25 per hour. Smaller companies and 14-15-year-olds will remain at the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour, subject to federal legislation.
