When we founded Cincy Scoop, we had a clear mission: highlight the good around Cincinnati, uplift our community, and showcase why our city is such an amazing place to call home. That's why we're thrilled to announce IKEA West Chester as a Cincy Scoop sponsor for 2025.

For 17 years, IKEA has been more than just a furniture store — it's been a neighbor committed to making our community better. And as we've gotten to know the team beyond the brand, we’ve discovered just how committed they are to this goal.

Many of you might have spotted IKEA's vibrant booth at BLINK 2024. While thousands enjoyed the light festival, IKEA created a special space for photo opportunities and games, bringing their signature playfulness to one of Cincinnati's most beloved events. 

Throughout the year, they transform their West Chester store into a gathering space hosting trivia nights, Easter egg hunts, meatball madness competitions, and friendsgivings. Events reflecting IKEA's understanding that retail spaces can be more than shopping destinations—they can be places where our community comes together.

For us, having IKEA as a sponsor feels especially meaningful. 

We've been shopping at IKEA since 2014, navigating the iconic blue and yellow aisles long before Cincy Scoop existed. We also admire IKEA's commitment to sustainability (a cause near and dear to our heart) through programs like Buy Back + Resell, where customers can return gently used IKEA furniture for store credit. This practical approach to reducing waste aligns perfectly with our belief that small, local actions contribute to larger positive change. 

You may also be surprised to learn that IKEA owns TaskRabbit, the service that connects people with skilled taskers for everyday needs. We personally experienced TaskRabbit's value when moving into our four-story walk-up apartment last year, a task that would have been nearly impossible without their help!

So, when the opportunity to collaborate came up, we immediately recognized the potential to amplify the positive impact IKEA is making in Cincinnati.
